The First Renewable Energy Global Investors Meet & Expo (RE - INVEST) will be organized by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India in partnership with Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) from 15-17 February, 2015 in New Delhi. The central theme of the event is to provide a platform for large scale investors to use opportunities in the renewable energy sector in India. The event is expected to be inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India. This apart, country's other leading industrial and sector specific (RE) Associations/ Organizations, including ASSOCHAM and PHDCII will also be closely associated.

It will be the first major platform for investment promotion in the renewable energy sector at Government of India level to signal India's commitment to the development and upscaling of renewable energy for meeting its energy requirement in a sustainable manner. RE-INVEST will enable the global investment community to connect with renewable energy stakeholders in India. The event is expected be attended by over 200 investors, both domestic and international. Besides, representatives from State Governments, Public Sector enterprises, renewable power developers and manufacturers, state renewable energy nodal agencies and other related stakeholders will also play an important role. Over 1,000 delegates are expected to attend the Meet.

Renewable Energy is contributing about 6.5% in the electricity mix of the country. It is proposed that this would be taken to about 12% in the next three years. Major initiatives by the Government including accelerated depreciation, generation based incentive, feed-in-tariff, viability gap funding is expected to add massive investments in the renewable energy sector. FDI up to 100% under the automatic route is permitted in Renewable Energy Sector.

RE-INVEST will be the culmination of a conference and exhibition of manufacturers, project developers, investors and other players in the renewable energy space to showcase manufacturing capabilities, latest technologies, financing options and investment opportunities. International companies in the renewable energy space from different countries will also have the opportunity to exhibit and showcase at the Expo to a wide Indian audience.
