The Council for Leather Exports (CLE), an Export Promotion Organisation functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India with the prime objective of promoting
export of leather, leather products & footwear is organising a Sourcing Meet on 1st February 2020 at Chennai, India, with the support of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt of India.
The Indian leather & footwear sector assumes greater significance in terms of its potential towards employment generation and foreign exchange earnings.
With an annual turnover of over US$ 18 billion, the export of leather and leather products increased manifold over the past decades and touched US$ 5.69 billion during 2018-19.
The objective of this Sourcing Meet is to arrange B2B meetings between the international suppliers of raw hides/skins, wet-blue, crust leather and Indian manufacturers of
leather products to facilitate their sourcing of Raw hides, skins, wet blue, crust leather etc, and to meet the new capacity developed for production of shoes, bags and garments.
