On the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, an international conference “Swami Vivekananda – Reassessing the Man and His Contribution” was held in Melbourne on 21-22 February 2014. The event was organised by the Consulate General of India, Melbourne and Monash University with the support of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi. The participants included scholars from Moscow, Norway, USA, Israel, India and Australia. The conference explored the relevance of the principles of Swami Vivekananda in the present time.
