An event to launch the project titled “Are Indians an Ethnic Minority ?” (four volumes – 2 to 5)  written by Len Kenna &  illustrated by Crystal Jordan along with a photo exhibition on the subject,   was organized in the Consulate on 5^th July 2014. Around 100 persons attended in the event.  The High Commissioner, Mr. Biren Nanda was the key note speaker and Consul General Ms.Manika Jain gave the welcome address. The local  dignitaries who participated in the event included Hon. Craig Ondarchie, MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier of Victoria (who represented Hon. Matthew Guy, Victorian Minister for Planning and Multicultural Affairs), Hon. Bruce Atkinson, MLC, President of the Legislative Council of Victoria, Hon. Inga Peulich, MLC, Cabinet Secretary of Victoria, Hon. Ted Baillieu, MP, former Premier of Victoria, Hon. Marsha Thompson, MP of Victoria and    Councilor  Mary Lalios, Mayor of City of Whittlesea.  The event was well received by the participants.
